Kikuji returns with Long Way From Caxton Point, the debut EP from Ploom, a brand new artist reared deep in the heartlands of our native home: rural East Anglia. Ploom has been a key player in dubstep for pretty much longer than it was even called dubstep.
As part of the OG Stink Like Sock collective he was responsible for helping break the sound in East Anglia just as the genre was coming to prominence in the mid-00s, running some of the biggest 140 nights outside of London in places as exotic as Cambridge, the home counties and surrounding areas.
Ploom has been a regular fixture of the Outlook Festival lineup since long before Croatia became the unofficial second home of UK underground music and has also represented for some of dubstep’s most respected and revered labels and club nights since the genre’s inception.
Before that he was something of a boundary pushing selector in grime collectives such as Macabre Unit and I.M.P Batch (who produced Crazy Titch’ Singalong) and has been shelling clubs and pirate radio on the regs since the year 2000. In short he’s been busy.
After taking a break from DJ’ing & promoting to learn some off-world production tekkers Ploom has trusted us with his first ever EP titled Long Way From Caxton Point (if you know then you know)
